Today was chore day. As much as I hate to admit it, even when you are footloose and fancy free, you still end up having to do chores. Trash was first. Next up, laundry. The most challenging was to find a pan so Susanne could make flan. The closest place for all of that was Ennis about 40 miles away.
I posted another amusing blog (at least in my mind) and headed out for Ennis. First stop, the laundromat. I haven’t been to a laundromat in a long time. Not much has changed in the intervening decades. They are still, unabashedly, uninteresting — and the one in Ennis was no different.

I did find out, though, that if I had been a bit more on top of things I could have bought the laundromat for $535,000. Sadly it is no longer on the market.
The only exciting thing to report from the laundromat is that there were big signs that stated, quite emphatically, “Absolutely no horse blankets.” I guess that when you know that you are in Montana.
The rest of the day consisted of more chores, the usual snarly look from the checker at the grocery store, a failed visit to Family Dollar and then a quick run through the thrift stores in hopes of finding a flan plan. No luck, but I found two things that might work so I splurged the full $7 for both.
If nothing else, I will call them birthday presents for my sister. I am a giver.
